Site coordination notes

LT-15 sconces (Powder): 2× Rejuvenation Florentine 20", oil-rubbed bronze with alabaster shade, mount on Roman Clay walls. Coordinate with electrician — leave clean wiring stubs proud so they land on top of finished plaster without chipping.

STN-4 stone counter (Powder): Calacatta Cremo marble custom integrated sink (Mario and Son #1663988). Installs after Roman Clay per Chris. New vanity goes in after as well.

PL-7 / PL-9 fixtures (Powder): Concretti brand wall-mount faucet + bottle trap (Antique finish). Note: "Concretti" is a plumbing brand — unrelated to Meoded Concretta despite similar name.

Phase context: Phase 2 of multi-phase remodel; Phase 1 was the Golf Simulator (basement, not Apollyon scope). Phase 3 is Primary Bath / Bedrooms (also not on Apollyon scope at this point).

Substrate prep notes

Damaged wall — verify substrate is structurally sound and dry before recoat. Existing finish may need cut-back, taper, or skim to a feathered edge so the new ColorAtelier coats lay in flat. If existing system is incompatible (latex paint, non-mineral coating), plan for primer / tooth before plaster.

When a client hands you a BM or SW chip and you need to pick a Meoded color (or coordinate across brands), match on three properties: undertone · chroma · value (LRV).

The three-property method

1Undertone — warm, cool, or neutral. The #1 pairing failure. A "grey" with green undertone next to a "grey" with violet undertone will fight on the wall.
2Chroma — saturation. Most plaster colors are low-chroma. If the BM chip is vivid, your match needs some chroma or it'll look washed out.
3Value (LRV) — lightness. BM/SW publish LRV on every chip. Get within ±3 LRV points to avoid a noticeable brightness step.

Undertone categories

Warm

Yellow · orange · red bias. Reads cozy. Pairs with wood, brass, cream.

Cool

Blue · green · violet bias. Reads crisp. Pairs with chrome, steel, white.

Neutral

Balanced, low-bias. Reads safe. Pairs with almost everything.

Green-leaning

Mushroomy / mossy. Common in warm greys. Watch for clash with pink-warm greys.

Samples — the only real truth

Plaster color shifts wet-to-dry and burnish-to-matte. Sample panels are mandatory:

  • 12×12" minimum, 24×24" for high-end / particular clients.
  • Apply full coats + any wash/glaze you'll use on the actual wall.
  • View at three times of day + under the space's actual artificial lighting.
  • Tape BM/SW chip on the sample — no relying on memory.
  • Photograph the approved sample with chip in frame; save reference.

Ask Claude for a specific match

Substrate prep is where most failures start. Per-product reference + GC-facing checklist.

By product

Meoded Marmorino Tintoretto · matte VP
Substrate: Level 5 drywall, sanded smooth. Primer: Quartz Primer, tinted toward finish. Coats: 2 minimum. Used on: Ari Divine (Villa). Gotcha: Demand a true Level 5 — seams telegraph.
Meoded Stucco Lamundo · high-gloss VP
Substrate: Level 5 perfect — gloss mirrors imperfections. Coats: 3–4 burnished. Protect: Plasterguard / Stain Shield in high-touch.
Meoded Vega Plaster · stone effect
Substrate: Level 4 OK (texture hides flaws). Composite mantels: scuff + primer. Used on: Ringwood (Serenity MC-750 · custom wash · color approved 4/27, awaiting seal).
Meoded Concretta / ConcrettaFS · microcement
Substrate: Drywall, cement board, or properly primed surfaces. ConcrettaFS = flexible/sealed variant. Thickness: thin layers, multiple coats. Used on: Romane lobby (Cumulous, ConcrettaFS linear texture); McConkey + Laucius fireplaces (Fossil MC-783); Bre fireplace + range hood + vanity (color TBD). Note: Concretta is a Meoded microcement — Meoded fandeck colors apply.
CimentArt Aqua · waterproof microcement
Substrate: Structurally sound, non-flexing. Showers: waterproof membrane (Schluter Kerdi) behind cement board. Corners: ALL internal corners taped + bedded with mesh. Coats: 2 base + 2 finish + waterproof sealer. Used on: McConkey floors (218 SF: Mudroom 128 + Laundry 65 + Powder 25), Mobley wet areas, Garfield outdoor, Laucius wet areas. Critical: Never over flexing substrates.
CimentArt Sealer + PU A+B
Use: Final waterproof topcoat over plaster + Plasterguard (Rodland Repair shower). Sequence: 1 Sealer → 2 PU coats. Critical: A+B PU has limited pot life — mix only what you'll apply within window.
Cement Designs Eco-Cement · mineral plaster
Substrate: Drywall, cement board, painted (with primer). Thickness: 1–3mm minimum. Sheen options: matt / satin / shiny — request up front; affects prep standard.
Cement Designs Metallic · Acero / Cobre / Zinc / Bronce / Latón / Aluminio
Substrate: Level 4–5. Oxidation: Acero activated to oxidize (Mobley) — unpredictable by design; sample first. Sealing: Critical to lock oxidation.
Firmolux Marmorino Piatto
Substrate: Level 4 OK, Level 5 ideal. Primer: Anchor Primer or tinted PVA. Coverage: 75 sqft/gal/coat. Coats: 2 minimum. Tinting: any BM/SW.
Portola Roman Clay

ColorAtelier (legacy match — Rodland only)
Standard mineral-plaster prep. For repair: feather edges, prime where needed, verify compatibility.

GC-facing substrate checklist

Cut-and-paste into your contractor onboarding email:

For Apollyon Wall Design to deliver the finish we bid: 1. All drywall to Level 5 finish unless specifically agreed otherwise 2. All internal corners taped and bedded — no raw edges 3. All fasteners set and filled flush — no proud screws 4. Substrate fully dry, dust-free, delivered at 50–85°F, below 65% RH 5. Wet-area prep must include a tested waterproof membrane (Schluter or equivalent) 6. No fresh paint within 7 days of our arrival — outgassing affects lime plaster 7. Floor microcement: subfloor must not flex — no floating or span over 16" OC without reinforcement 8. We'll do final walk-through 48 hours before arrival to confirm readiness If you need exceptions, talk to me before we load in — rework after mobilization is billable.

Color-product pairing rule

Each brand has its own color system. Don't cross-pair color names with the wrong brand:

  • Meoded products (Marmorino Tintoretto · Stucco Lamundo · Vega · Marmorino Palladino · Concretta / ConcrettaFS microcement) use Meoded fandeck colors (Villa, Serenity MC-750, Fossil MC-783, Cumulous, etc.). Rare exception: custom match to a BM or SW color.
  • CimentArt products (Aqua microcement + sealers) use CimentArt palette (Khaki, etc.).
  • Cement Designs / Craftex products (Eco-Cement + Metallic / Metals: Acero, Cobre, etc.) use Cement Designs palette.
  • Firmolux Piatto is tinted to any BM or SW color — that's its thing.

Microcement attribution shorthand: Concretta = Meoded · Aqua = CimentArt · Eco-Cement / Metals = Cement Designs.

Estimate revisions — rule

Minor tweak (price adjustment, color change, small spec swap) → stay at Estimate Sent, add a timeline note like "v2 sent 5/2 with matte change".

Rescope (adding/removing rooms, fundamentally different work) → bounce back to Estimate in Progress until v2 is sent.

Rule of thumb: "What I'm waiting on" determines status. If still waiting on the client to act, you're at Estimate Sent.
